Voltage classification of solar street lamp system

The working principle of the solar LED street lamp is that in the daytime, the solar cell receives sunlight to generate electricity, and charges the lithium battery through the charging controller to store the electricity in the lithium battery.

Classification of 24V, 12V, 6.4V, 3.2V lithium battery systems:

1: 24V system voltage, usually two solar panels with 18V output voltage are connected in series, so the power generation voltage of the whole system is 24V. Such system voltage has extremely high stability, but the solar street lamp with 24V system voltage is very expensive.

It is usually used in municipal road lighting (the lighting project requires high illuminance after product installation). It has high requirements on the lighting site, and the output power ratio of the lamp is large.

2: 12V system voltage, usually a solar panel with 18V output voltage. When the lithium battery is fully charged, the voltage can reach about 12V. The stability of the 12V system is relatively stable, and the overall volume of the 12V system is smaller than that of the 24V system.

It is often used in the lighting of provincial roads, national roads, and rural roads (the lighting requirements of the lighting project are lower than those of municipal projects). It is superior to 24V system in price and widely used. It is the mainstream application in the current market.

3: 6.4 V system voltage. The solar panel usually uses 10 V output voltage, and the system working voltage is about 6.4 V. With the requirements of the market for cost control, there are many innovative enterprises as mainstream products to replace the 12 V system, integrating lithium battery and control system into the lamps.

Structural optimization has greatly reduced the use of product materials. It is also a matter of time to replace the 12V system.

4: 3.2V system voltage. The solar panel usually uses 5-6V output voltage, and the product volume is further reduced. The cost has been further controlled, and now it has been demanded by many family markets.

The feature is that the lamp power does not need to be very large (about 30W), and the lithium battery life is not required to be very long (4-6 hours a day). At present, the personal family demand for products has increased significantly, and the market demand is strong.

The voltage of most solar street lamp systems is 12V, 24V, 3.2V, and 6.4V. We should pay attention to the discharge current of the controller when selecting the controller. Select the controller whose maximum discharge current is greater than or equal to the rated current of the street lamp.

The current output of the lithium battery to the street lamp can be controlled by adjusting the load current of the controller. If the controller with small discharge circuit is selected, the street lamp will not reach the required brightness, or the system will be damaged.
