Cleaning conditions of solar panels
The solar panel cleaning of the photovoltaic power generation system shall be carried out in the early morning, evening, night or cloudy and rainy days (when the irradiance is lower than 200W / ㎡).
It is strictly prohibited to choose the time around noon or in strong sunshine. When cleaning in the morning and evening, it should also be carried out in a dark time period.
Solar panel cleaning equipment
1. Dust removal tools: feather duster, brush, etc.
2. Tools for removing tight attachments: plastic scraper, medium hardness yarn ball, etc.
3. Tools for removing staining substances and bird droppings: cleaning cloth, rag, etc.
4. Cleaning tools: cleaning system (including pipeline and booster pump) or professional cleaning tools.
Solar panel cleaning method
1.Pay attention not to step on or walk on the solar panel during cleaning, do not use metal and hard objects to scrub or clean by grinding, and do not spray water at high temperature.
- Observation and analysis:
First, check the pollution degree of the solar panel to be cleaned before cleaning. If it is light pollution – no particles, only dust. We suggest only washing or brushing separately. This will not only save manpower and material resources, but also prolong the service life of solar panels.
- Washing and brushing:
If particles are found on the surface of the solar panel, it must be washed first, and then brushed after washing off the particles. Why brush? Because washing can only remove the floating dust and particles on the surface of solar panels, but the pollutants with certain viscosity or due to chemical reaction are not completely removed. If it is not treated for a long time, these pollutants can no longer be cleaned.
- Overwater cleaning:
This step is very important! During flushing, the small dust, particles and some other sundries cleaned in the brushing process will be washed away from the surface of the solar panel with water.
2.Conventional cleaning methods can be divided into ordinary cleaning and flushing cleaning.
- Ordinary cleaning:
Use a small dry broom or rag to remove the attachments on the surface of the solar panel, such as dry floating ash, leaves, etc. For hard foreign matters attached to the glass, such as soil, bird droppings and viscous objects, a slightly hard scraper or gauze can be used for scraping, but it should be noted that hard materials cannot be used for scraping to prevent damage to the surface of solar glass. Whether to conduct flushing and cleaning according to the cleaning effect.
- Flushing cleaning:
For objects that cannot be cleaned tightly attached to the glass, such as residues of dyed substances such as bird droppings, plant juice or wet soil, they need to be cleaned. Clean water is generally used in the cleaning process, together with a flexible brush. In case of oily dirt, the contaminated area can be cleaned separately with detergent or soapy water and other relevant solvents.
It depends on the location of the photovoltaic project. Generally speaking, you need to wash frequently in winter, and you can reduce the number of times in summer. Keeping solar panels clean can greatly improve power generation efficiency. In order to ensure normal power generation, the solar panels of photovoltaic power stations generally need to be cleaned one or twice a month.
