Application and selection of flexible solar panels

Main applications

Camping trip: as a mobile power source on the tent.

RV long-distance travel: Of course, you can also bring a noisy generator to meet your power needs, or simply install flexible solar panels on your RV to enjoy a peaceful driving experience!

Suitable for boating/fishing/yachting trips: Abandon the generator and attract fish to the tranquility of a noise free environment.

Daily backup power: Have you found yourself frequently on the road, perhaps not on the grid, and feeling panicked about losing battery on your phone?

On the contrary, you can install flexible solar panels on the top of the vehicle, making it your fashionable and environmentally friendly mobile power source.

Notes on how to choose?

Power: This is usually the primary criterion for selecting suitable flexible solar panels. This is measured in watts. The larger the power supply, the more devices you can plug in, which may last longer.

For example, 100 watt flexible solar panels are typically used on ships for 2-3 hours, and higher wattage (such as 200 watt flexible solar panels or 300 watt flexible solar panels) are used for RVs or camping trips.

Efficiency: This refers to the rate at which a flexible solar panel can convert the (daily) light it absorbs into usable energy. For example, a 15% efficiency is a basic standard, which means that 15% of the total absorbed light is being converted into solar energy. High quality flexible solar panels can provide efficiency of up to 23-25%.

Durability: This depends on the quality of the materials used in the panel. Plastic is always used to be sandwiched between photovoltaic cells to protect them from dust and corrosion. Here, ETFE plastic provides better durability and transparency than cheaper varieties (including PET and PTE plastics).

Bending angle: 30 degrees is considered an acceptable bending angle for most crystal panels.

Installation: The good news is that the installation of flexible solar panels is mainly done by hand. In fact, some can be simply glued to your RV using adhesive or Velcro.

However, looking for a company that provides standard user manuals and installation guides. If the company is willing to invest in purchasing quality user manuals, then you can trust their promised product quality standards.

Size and weight: These numbers may not differ significantly, with the lightest starting at 4 pounds and reaching up to 8 pounds – still at a level of portability.
