7 Points About Solar Power System: Do You Know Them All?

1. Is the power generation monitoring data of the photovoltaic grid-connected system the same as the metering data of the grid two-way electricity meter? How big is the error?

The power generation monitoring data of distributed photovoltaic grid-connected system and the metering data of electricity meter are not necessarily the same. If the same electricity metering equipment is used at the same parallel node and the accuracy is exactly the same, the data obtained should be the same.

However, the monitoring equipment used in the photovoltaic grid-connected system is often the equipment adopted by the system construction unit, and the meter metering equipment is often the equipment installed by the power department.

Therefore, the equipment is not used, and there may be some gaps in the data obtained. The amount of error depends on the specific situation. The settlement of electricity charges and subsidies shall be based on the metering equipment installed by the power department.

2. What are the cleaning steps of solar panels in roof power station?

First, check the pollution degree of the solar panels before cleaning. If it is slightly polluted, there is no particulate matter and only dust, we suggest only washing or brushing separately. When deep cleaning is required, if particles are found on the surface or it is uncertain whether they are not, then it must be washed first, and then brushed after washing away the particles. Finally, it needs to be washed with clean water.

3. Will the photovoltaic power generation system produce noise and electromagnetic radiation hazards?

The photovoltaic power generation system converts solar energy into electric energy, which will not produce noise impact. The noise index of the inverter is not higher than 65 dB, and there will be no noise harm. No pollution, no radiation. Inverter, distribution cabinet and other electronic devices will pass EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) test, so it is not harmful to the human body.

4. What are the construction principles of a photovoltaic power generation system? How to prevent electric shock?

① Wear protective headgear, insulated gloves and rubber insulated shoes during installation.

② Unpack the solar panels when installing them.

③ Do not install in rainy, snowy, or windy weather.

④ Due to the risk of electric shock, do not perform the installation if the junction box terminal of the solar panel is wet.

⑤ Use insulated dry tools instead of wet tools.

⑥ During installation, do not drop any objects (such as solar panels or tools).

⑦ Connect the male and female connectors correctly and check the wiring condition. All connecting wires shall not be separated from the solar panel, and certain methods shall be taken so that the connecting wires will not scratch or squeeze the backplate on the solar panel.

⑧ Do not apply excessive force or objects on the surface of the solar panel, or distort the frame of the solar panel.

⑨ Do not use sharp tools to scrub the glass or back film of the solar panel, which will leave scratches on the solar panel. For the structure installed on the roof, please try to follow the safety principles of “top to bottom” and “left to right”.

5. What problems should be paid attention to in fire prevention and fire fighting of photovoltaic power generation systems?

Inflammable and explosives are prohibited near the photovoltaic power generation system. In case of fire, the loss of personnel and property will be immeasurable. In addition to the basic fire safety inspection measures, the photovoltaic system is especially required to have the functions of self-detection, arc identification, and fire prevention, so as to reduce the possibility of fire.

6. In order to prevent the solar panel from being hit by heavy objects, can the iron wire protective net be installed on it?

Wire mesh is not recommended. Because the installation of iron wire protective mesh on the photovoltaic array may have a local impact on the solar panel and form a hot spot effect. It will affect the power generation efficiency of the whole photovoltaic power station.

In addition, since qualified solar panels have passed the ice hockey impact test, the impact will not affect the performance of solar panels in general.

7. Is it necessary to disconnect the photovoltaic power generation system in thunderstorm weather?

Distributed photovoltaic power generation systems are equipped with lightning protection devices, so they do not need to be cut off. For safety, it is recommended to disconnect the circuit breaker switch of the combiner box. Cut off the circuit connection with the solar panel to avoid the harm caused by direct lightning that cannot be removed by the lightning protection module.

The operation and maintenance personnel shall timely detect the performance of the lightning protection module to avoid the harm caused by the failure of the lightning protection module.
